Katherine M. Daley

Geneseo resident

Katherine M. Daley, 83, died Jan. 8, 2005 at the Livingston County Skilled Nursing Facility in Geneseo where she had been a resident since 1997. She is survived by her brother Bruce (Elizabeth) Daley of Geneseo; sister Mary McKeown of Florida; sister-in-law Mildred Daley of Rochester; several nieces and nephews. She was born Feb. 12, 1921 in Geneseo the daughter of John and Sara (Fleming) Daley. No prior calling hours. Graveside services, Jan. 12 at 3 p.m. at St. Mary's Cemetery in Geneseo with Father Daniel McMullin of St. Mary's Church officiating. Arrangements: Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo.

Edward Hancock

Former Mt. Morris resident

Edward Hancock, 89, of 3062 County Complex Dr., Hopewell, formerly of Mt. Morris, died Jan. 7, 2005 at F.F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua. He was born the son of Edward and Grace (Brown) Hancock on Sept. 13, 1915 in New York City. He was a resident at the Ontario County Health Facility in Hopewell for several years. He is survived by the staff and residents at the Ontario County Health Facility in Hopewell. He was predeceased by his friend Ruth Constantine of Mt. Morris in 2003. No prior calling. Memorial service to be held at a later date at the Ontario County Health Facility. Interment, St. Patrick's Cemetery, Mt. Morris. Richard Johnston

Livonia resident

Richard “Dick” Johnston, 58, of Richmond Mills Road, Livonia, died Jan. 4, 2005 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. He was born the son of Howard and Eileen Morse Johnston on December 24, 1946 in Rochester. He was predeceased by his mother Eileen Johnston. Dick was a life member of the Livonia Fire Department. He is survived by his wife Debra; his children, Rusty (Maggie) Johnston, Kerry (John Haak) Jischke; granddaughter Sara Johnston; father, Howard Johnston,; sisters, Donna Johnston, Sheila G'feller; brothers, Doug (Dawn) Johnston and David Johnston; aunt, Ellen Johnston; several nieces and nephews; loving friends, Don (Irene) Riley. Friends called Thursday at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., Route 15, Livonia where Funeral Services were held Friday. Friends wishing may make memorial contributions to the Livonia Fire Department or to the Livonia Ambulance Fund or to the American Cancer Society.

David S. Young

Retired Lucidol supervisor

David S. Young, 82, a retired supervisor at Lucidol Chemical Plant in Piffard, where he worked for 31 years, died Jan. 8, 2005 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. Mr. Young resided on Gamble Road in the Town of Groveland. He is survived by his wife Thelma Jean McKelvey; children, Lisa Carman of Rochester, Sam Young of Geneseo, Lucia (Greg) Dietrich of Orlando, Fla. and Cathy (Ralph) Jardio of Groveland; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; many nieces and nephews. He was born July 11, 1922 in Geneseo, the son of Samuel and Bessie (Coller) Young. He was a graduate of Geneseo High School. David enjoyed flying. He had earned his pilot's license and owned his own airplane. He was also well known as an after dinner farmer in the Groveland area. No prior calling hours. Funeral Services were held Jan. 12 at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo with Assistant Pastor Ron Bouchard of the Calvary Chapel of the Genesee Valley officiating. Burial, Lakeview Cemetery in Groveland. Memorials may be made to the Teresa House, 21 Highland Road, Geneseo NY 14454.
