Helen M. Carey

Helen M. Carey, 83, of Ely Ave., Livonia, died March 6, 2001, at the Conesus Lake Nursing Home in Livonia. She was born the daughter of Arthur Schwenzer and Anna Poshva on July 24, 1917 in Rochester. She was predeceased by her husband Daniel Carey Jr. in 1992. She is survived by her brother Frank (Marion) Schwenzer of Rochester; and several nieces and nephews. Friends called Friday at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., Route 15 in Livonia. Her Funeral Mass was held Saturday at St. Joseph¹s Church in Livonia with the Rev. Jerome Schifferli officiating. Burial, Whitehaven Memorial Park. Friends wishing may make memorial contributions to the St. Joseph¹s Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 77, Livonia NY 14487.

Van Allen Hulburt

Van Allen Hulburt, 63, of Byron, a retired guidance counselor at Byron-Bergen Central School, died March 3, 2001, at Highland Hospital in Rochester, after a lengthy battle with lung cancer. He was born April 16, 1937, in Rochester, a son of Kathryn Van Allen Hulburt of York and the late Edwin J. Hulburt. He was raised in York, where he graduated from York Central School. He was also a graduate of Brockport State College with a bachelor of arts degree in health and physical education and from the University of Rochester with a master¹s degree in counseling. He began his teaching career at Byron‹Bergen Central School as a physical education teacher, then became a guidance counselor for many years, retiring from the district after 32 years. An avid golfer, he was the golf coach at Byron-Bergen for more than 25 years, giving lessons and working numerous golf camps at the Batavia Country Club, where he was a member. He was a member and past master of Hesperus Lodge No. 837 Free and Accepted Masons of Bergen, a member of the board of Gillam-Grant Community Center and chairman of the town of Byron Zoning Board of Appeals. He was a longtime member of the Byron Presbyterian Church, where he was a former elder and sang in the church choir. Surviving with his mother are his wife of 43 years, Helen Clements Hulburt; his children, Judy (Wayne) Holly of Honeoye Falls, Jill (David) Szydiowski of Pittsford and Jerry Hulburt of Houston; a sister, Barbara (Dr. William) Anderson of Geneseo; 10 grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends called Saturday at the H.E. Turner and Company Funeral Home in Bergen where members of the Hesperus Masonic Lodge met at 7 p.m. Services were Sunday at the Byron Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Byron Presbyterian Church, W. Main St., Byron NY 14422.

Judith Waldron Johnston

Judith Waldron Johnston, Modesto, California - Caledonia February 18, 2001 She is survived by her loving family. Husband, Richard Johnston of Modesto, Calif.; daughters, Laura Johnston of Encinitas, Calif. and Jennifer Johnston of Modesto, Calif.; parents, Robert and Lois Waldron of Clifton spring, N.Y.; sisters, Lynn (Arthur) Adams of Tampa, Fla., Janet (Larry) Flynn of Caledonia, Rene (Mark) Kelly of Caledonia, Barbara (Dale) Cornish of Saline MI, Joan Waldron of Los Angeles, Calif.; brothers, James (Kathie) Waldron of Chicago, Ill., Donald (Rachel) Waldron of Albany, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Robert and her mother Caroline. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on March 17 at 2 p.m. at the First United Presbyterian Church of Mumford. Patricia Anne Kotak

Patricia Anne Kotak, 63, of Lakeville Rd., Avon, died March 7, 2001, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. She was born the daughter of Edward and Helen Collins Bernhardt of Feb. 26, 1938, in Buffalo. She was predeceased by her son Paul in 1991. She is survived by her husband Paul of Avon; daughter Beverly Kotak of Springwater; brothers, Edward (Florence) Bernhardt of Italy, John (Gracie) Bernhardt of Shinglehouse, Pa., Thomas Bernhardt of North Tonawanda, N.Y.; sisters, Barbara (Reid) Cicciarelli of Arizona, Marion (Hershall) Lambert of Lyndonville, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews. No prior calling. Services to be announced at a later date. Friends wishing may make memorial contributions to the Epilepsy Association of Great Rochester, 1000 Elmwood Ave., Rochester NY 14620. Joseph P. Krenzer

Joseph P. Krenzer, age 85 years, of Caledonia died March 12, 2001 at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester after a long illness. He was born August 11, 1915 in Caledonia to Joseph and Mary (Shelly) Krenzer. Joseph was a farmer all his life. He was a member of the Caledonia Grange, and St. Columba Church. Joseph is survived by sons and daughters-in-law; John and Jane Krenzer, Joseph F. Krenzer, both of Caledonia, and Richard and Gloria Krenzer, Marcellus, 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, brother and sister-in-law; Ray and Maryann Krenzer, Caledonia, several nieces and nephews. Friends called Wednesday, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Alhart Funeral Home in Caledonia. His Funeral Mass was held Thursday at 11 am at St. Columba Church. Interment will be at St. Columba Cemetery, Caledonia. Memorials may be made to Caledonia Ambulance, P.O. Box 1, Caledonia, NY 14423.

Jill E. Martin

Jill E. Martin, 41, of 8 Clinton St., Mt. Morris, died March 7, 2001 at her home. She was born the daughter of John V. and Jeanne (Chase) Martin on July 19, 1959 in Rochester. She was employed as a machine operator at OMP in Orland, Ohio. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Jeanne Martin and her brother, John V. Martin. She is survived by 3 sisters, Jennifer Naracong and Joy Martin, both of Canandaigua, and Janet Ferrin of Dansville; 2 nieces and 1 nephew and many dear friends including Phylis Mains of Mt. Morris. No prior calling. Memorial services were held Saturday at the JOHN W. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 37 Chapel St. in Mt. Morris with the Rev. Carin Farmer officiating. Memorials may be made to the Livingston County Hospice Fund, 2 County Campus, Mt. Morris NY 14510.

Rosemary Saeva

Rosemary Saeva age 78 of Avon, died March 8, 2001 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. She was born June 7, 1922 i Avon, NY the daughter of Joseph and Adele (Amato) Polizzi. She was a manicurist for over 30 years for Sibley¹s and 5 years at McCurdy¹s. Predeceased by her husband Saro J.  Saeva in 1999, she is survived by her sister Adele Marie Ferge of Avon; three brothers Russell Polizzi of Stafford, John (Rose) Polizzi of Pittsford and Joseph (Nancy)Polizzi of Retsof; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins. Friends called Sunday t the Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home in Avon. Her Funeral Mass was held Monday at St. Agnes Church in Avon, Rev. Jerry Ventura officiating. Interment St. Agnes Cemetery. George R. "Bob" Schwartz

Avon: George R. ³Bob² Schwartz, 79, died on March 2, 2001, at Hurlbut Nursing Home in Brighton, N.Y. He was born Nov. 29, 1921, in Rochester, the son of George M. Schwartz and Madelene (Burroughs) Schwartz. He was predeceased by his wife Neilma (Hasler) Schwartz. Bob was retired as a plant manager from Jones Chemical Company and was a World War II Army veteran. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Karen (Thomas) Stanski of Pittson, Pa.; two sisters and brother-in-law, Beverly Strutz of Rochester and Carol (Larry) Rath of Scottsville; granddaughter Shannon Stanski; several nieces, nephews and many friends. Memorial services and interment will be held at a time to be announced in the Spring. Contributions may be made to the Avon Rotary-Lions Volunteer Ambulance in his memory. Interment, East Avon Cemetery. Arrangements by the Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home in Avon.

Weiand, Flora M.

Perkinsville-Elmira: Flora M. Weiand, 87, of 1215 South Main Street, Elmira, died March 10, 2001 at Wesley Gardens Nursing Home, Rochester after a long illness. She was born February 7, 1914 in Hornell the Daughter of James & Janet Hunter Todd. Residing all of her early life in Hornell. She moved to Elmira in 1952. She was married July 12, 1945 in Hornell to Jerome P. Weiand. Who predeceased her in 1995. She is survived by 3 Nieces; Veronica Weiand of Atlanta, Matilda David and Rosemary Atkinson both of Detroit; 6 Nephews; Thomas Todd of Hornell, Richard Todd of Chili, Russell Todd of Honeoye Falls, Steven Todd of Hornell, Jacob Weiand of Atlanta and Edward Dries of Detroit. Many Great Nieces & Nephews. She was also predeceased by her niece Carol Dodge in 2000. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Thursday at the Sacred Heart Church, Perkinsville.
