Marie E. Brehm

Marie E. Brehm 97 of 8383 Hudson Road, Springwater died Sunday May 13, 2001 at her home. Marie was born November 30, 1903 in Germany the daughter of Gottfried and Louise  Fischer Fauth and resided her early life in Germany, most of her life in E. Springwater-Wayland area prior to moving to Springwater in 1978. Marie was married June 12, 1926 in Chicago to Carl Brehm who Predeceased her in 1985. She is survived by 2 Daughters; Edna Kurtz of Floral City, Fla. and Rose Marie (Ernest) Perkins of Springwater, NY. 1 Son: Carl (Judy) Brehm of Springwater. 8 Grand Children, 21 Great Grand Children and 6 Great Great Grand Children. Friends called Monday and Tuesday at the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland. Funeral Services were conducted Tuesday at the Church of the Nazarene, Rte. 15 Springwater with Rev. Dennis Swart officiating. Interment Wayland Cemetery.

Robert A. Kessler

Robert A. Kessler age 43 of Avon, died suddenly Friday May 4, 2001 on Rte. 63 in Pavilion as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Bob was born in Buffalo, NY on Nov. 19, 1957 the son of Robert A. Kessler and Marjorie Urchuck. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1975 to 1977. Before moving back to this area from California a few years ago, Bob worked for the Federal Government there before transferring here. Bob was a facility manager for the Department of Immigration at their facilities in Batavia, NY. He was a coach for Avon Little League. Bob is survived by his wife of sixteen years, Christine (Torres) Kessler; two sons Robert William Kessler and John David Kessler both at home; mother and step-father Marjorie and William Hartford Of Avon; father & step-mother Robert & Carolyn Kessler of Sebring, Fl; one sister Lynn DeWolf of Henrietta and one brother Kenneth Kessler of Avon; his grandmother Sara Hiner of DuBoise, PA; aunts, uncle, nieces nephews & cousins. Friends called Tuesday May 8 at the Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home Inc. in Avon where his funeral service was held Wednesday at 11 am. Rev. Dr. Thomas Taylor officiating. Interment, Avon Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Avon Teen Center, 74 Genesee St., Avon, NY 14414.

Ruth E. Wilcox Porter

Ruth E. Wilcox Porter, 81, a retired linotype operator for Sanders Publications in Geneseo for 25 years, died Friday, May 11, 2001 at the Livingston County Skilled Nursing Facility in Geneseo, NY. Mrs. Porter had been a resident there since 1996. She is survived by 1 son John (Leaburn) Wilcox of Batavia, 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, sister in law Cora Wilcox of Rochester, 4 nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband William II. Porter on February 21, 1964 and 2 brothers Leo and Francis Wilcox. She was born June 16, 1919 in Cohocton, NY the daughter of Ilomer and Sylvia (Jincks) Wilcox. Visitation will be held at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home 111 Main St. in Geneseo on Sunday from 2-5 PM only. Memorials may be made to Geneseo Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 428, Geneseo, NY 14454 or a charity of one's choice. Funeral services were held Monday, May 14, 2001 at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home with Rev. Ray LIndquist of the Covington United Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in the Mapleview Cemetery in Cohocton, NY.

Helen Ruth Schrier

Helen Ruth Schrier, 84, of 7650 Begole Road, Mt. Morris, died May 13, 2001 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. She was born on Sept. 14, 1916 in Mt. Morris, the daughter of Clifford and Ada (Howell) McNair. A life resident of Mt. Morris she was employed at Curtis Burns in Leicester as a secretary for 14 years until her retirement in 1985. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Tuscarora. She is survived by her three children, Robert Schrier of Mt. Morris, Charles Schrier of Arizona and Jane Hilts of Nunda; seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren; and seven nieces. No prior calling. Graveside services were held Wednesday at the Mt. Morris Cemetery with the Rev. Carin Farmer officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by the JOHN W. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 37 Chapel St (Route 408), Mount Morris.
