Christian Scott Beyer

Former Leicester resident

Christian Scott Beyer, 35, United States Navy, died suddenly June 18, 2003 in Redondo Beach, Calif. Mr. Beyer was on active duty with the U.S. Navy in San Diego, Calif. at the time of his death. He resided on Alcona St. In San Diego and was previously from Leicester, N.Y. He is survived by his fiance Grachelle Mendoza and her son Timothy Mendoza of San Diego with whom he resided; his parents, Susan and Charles Flewelling of Leicester; brother A. Jacob (Gissette Molina) Beyer Jr. of New York City; sister Lisa Marie (Richard) Davison of Honeoye Falls; grandmother Evelyn Kane of Cheektowaga, N.Y.; grandfather Elihu Flewelling of Lancaster, N.Y.; nephew Michael Molina and nieces Kayla Rei Beyer, both of New York City, nephew Tyler Davison and niece Abigail Davison, both of Honeoye Falls; many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was born May 11, 1968 in Buffalo the son of Alfred and Susan (Kane) Beyer. Visitation will be held at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home Inc., 111 Main St. in Geneseo June 25 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 26 at 10 a.m. at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home with Rev. Marty McDonald of the City Church of Batavia officiating. Burial will be in Bath, NY National Cemetery with full military honors. Memorials may be made to the Bath National Cemetery Gift Fund, San Juan Ave., Bath NY 14810.

Dorothy E. Hanna

Artcraft Optical retiree

Dorothy E. Hanna, 92, died on June 18, 2003 at the Conesus Lake Nursing Home in Livonia. She was born on Aug. 16, 1910 in Red House, N.Y. the daughter of Martin Bloss and Bessie (Stanton) Bloss. She was retired from Artcraft Optical where she worked as an assembler. She loved gardening and flowers. She was predeceased by her husband John R. Hanna in 1949; sister Mildred Sheldon; and brother Ernest Bloss. She is survived by her son John R. (Sylvia) Hanna of Henderson, N.C.; grandson Scott Hanna of MA; three granddaughters, Kristina Buyea of Ohio, Michelle Buyea of Penfield, Trish Buyea of Pittsford; five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours were held at the Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc. in Avon. Her Funeral Mass was held at St. Mary's Church, Geneseo with Rev. Jerry Appelby officiating. Interment, Temple Hill Cemetery in Geneseo.

Lona T. Harris

General Foods retiree

Lona T. Harris, 100, died on June 13, 2003 at Highland Hospital in Rochester. Mrs. Harris was born on July 7, 1902 in Williamsport, Pa., the daughter of Harvey F. Trump Sr. and Mame (Shriner) Trump. She was a retired line worker for General Foods in Avon. She was 100 years old and would have been 101 on July 7, 2003. She was predeceased by her husband Lee A. Harris in 1983 and daughters, Bertha Smith and Anne Howe. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth (Chester) Worden, Lena (Donald) Erskine; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; a niece, a nephew; and her dear friend Wanda Christy. Calling hours and Funeral Services were held at the Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc. in Avon with Rev. Carin Farmer officiating. Interment, East Avon Cemetery.

Hope E. Lipson

Retired sales clerk

Hope E. Lipson, 79, a retired sales clerk at Trafery Jewelers in Providence, R.I., died June 20, 2003 at the Livingston County Campus Skilled Nursing Facility in Mt. Morris. She was previously from Rhode Island. She is survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins including Betty Grant of Piffard with whom she resided prior to her entry into the nursing home in January 2002. She was preceded in death by her husband David Lipson in March 1986. She was born Dec. 30, 1923 in Providence, R.I. the daughter of Francis and Helen (Dassbach) Senior. Visitation was held Tuesday at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo. Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 26 at 11 a.m. at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in Johnston, R.I. Memorials may be made to the Veterans Home of Bristol, R.I.

Stanley H. Miller

U.S. Marine veteran

Stanley H. “Stubby” Miller, 57, of Lima Road, Geneseo, died June 22, 2003 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. He is survived by his wife Sandra Welch Miller; son Justin Miller of Geneseo; father Harold Miller of Mt. Morris; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother Barbara, and his sister Cindy. He was born June 2, 1946 in Oneida, N.Y., the son of Harold and Barbara (Townley) Miller. He served in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War from 1966-1968. He was a member of the Geneseo VFW Post 5005 where he was an active member of the firing squad. He was employed by Kraft Food in Avon. Visitation was held Monday at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo where Funeral Services were held Tuesday with Ron Falkner officiating. Burial, Temple Hill Cemetery in Geneseo with full military honors. Memorials may be made to the Geneseo Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 428, Geneseo NY 14454.

Donald L. Paddock

Retired welder

Donald L. Paddock, 65, of 409 Tailrace Lane, Mt. Morris, died June 19, 2003 at his home. He was born the son of Ronald L and Dorothy (Loudin) Paddock on Aug. 17, 1937 in Geneseo. He was employed as a welder at Foster Wheeler Corporation in Dansville for over 30 years until his retirement in 1998. He was a former member of the Active Hose Company of the Mt. Morris Fire Department and the Fearless Hook and Ladder Company of the Dansville Fire Department. He was a member of the Elks Club in Rush, Moose Lodge of Dansville, Pioneer Club of Dansville and social member at the American Legions in Sebring, Fla. and Sonyea, N.Y. He is survived by his wife Nanci, four children, Colleen (Art) Crawford, Rod Paddock, Tracy (Kevin) Bassett and Steven (Barb) Paddock, all of Mt. Morris; nine grandchildren, Aaron Crawford and Tara Barnhart, Charles Bozzett, Rocky and Rod Paddock, Melinda (Paul Yomans) and Beth (David Link) Burgland, Wendy (Phil) Howell and Sarah Bassett; four great grandchildren, Brooke and Tanner Burgland, Devon Crawford and Jessie Paddock; his companion, Diane Charnock of Mt. Morris; his father, Ronald (Carolyn) Paddock of Florida; two sisters, Marion Palmer of Tuscarora, Sharon (Raymond) Blazek of Leicester, Robert (Rosalie) Paddock of Farmington and Larry Paddock of Florida; several nieces, nephews and many dear and loving friends. He was predeceased by his mother Dorothy (Dot) Rittenhouse in 2002 and brother-in-law William Palmer in 2003. Friends called Saturday at the John W. Martin Funeral Home, 37 Chapel St. (Route 408), Mt. Morris where Funeral Services were held Sunday with the Rev. Laura Norris Buisch officiating. Interment, Mt. Morris Cemetery. Cynthia L. (Roberts) Radesi

Cynthia L. (Roberts) Radesi, 45, of 29 Murray St., Mt. Morris, died suddenly Tuesday June 17, 2003. She was born the daughter of Edward and Harriet (Bryce) Roberts on Feb. 14, 1958 in Rochester. She graduated from Mt. Morris Central in 1976. She received her LPN from the Catherine McNulty School in Batavia. She was employed as a Community Home Director for Fingerlakes DDSO for several area homes for nearly 20 years. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Radesi; mother, Harriet Roberts of Mt. Morris; three sisters, Carol (Brian) Donner of Honeoye Falls, Pam (Barry) Gilson of Lima and Patty (John) Festa of Mt. Morris; one brother, James (Beverly) Roberts of Hornell; many nieces and nephews; mother-in-law Betty Radesi of Cuylerville; brothers and sisters-in-law Peter, Betty Ann, Frank, Mary, Helen and Sandy; her loving pets, Lewis and Jessica; many dear and loving friends. Predeceased by her father Edward Roberts in 1994 and father-in-law Frank Radesi in 2002. Friends called Friday at the John W. Martin Funeral Home, 37 Chapel St. (Route 408), Mt. Douglas K. Smith

Douglas K. Smith, 55, a carpenter in Jonesboro, LA, died suddenly June 19, 2003 in West Monroe, LA. Mr. Smith was previously from Groveland. He is survived by his wife Sandy Smith; mother Betty Smith; son Steven (Cynthia) Smith; and grandsons, Travis and Joshua Smith, all of Jonesboro, LA; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Smith and brother Donald Smith. Calling hours were held in Jonesboro on Sunday with Funeral Services on Monday. Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 28 at 11 a.m. in Lakeview Cemetery in Groveland with Lucille Kane of the Geneseo United Methodist Church officiating.
