Ellsworth Gordon Evans

Geneseo resident

Ellsworth gordon Evans, 83, a retiree of Lucidol Chemical Company in Piffard, died July 10, 2004 at his residence on Lima Road in Geneseo. Mr. Evans was also an employee at AKZO Salt Mine in Retsof and worked for the Town of Geneseo. He also enjoyed farming the land behind his residence for many years. He is survied by his daughter Sharon (Robert) Paduano of Caledonia; son Ronald Evans (Kay) Evans of Leicester; grandchildren, Robert Paduano of Geneseo, Jamie (Wendy) Paduano of Caledonia, Shane (Lisa) Evans of Warsaw, James (Mistie) Tucker of Tuscarora and Gene (Peg) Allen of Leicester; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Hagan Evans. He was born May 5, 1921 in Warsaw, N.Y> the son of Frank C. and Lottie P. (Wheeler) Evans. Visitation was held at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo on Tuesday where Funeral Services were held July 14 with Lucille Kane of Geneseo United Methodist Church officiating. Burial, St. Mary's Cemetery in Geneseo. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 3049, Syracuse, N.Y. 13220.

 

Otto Layer Jr.

Canandaigua/Dansville - Otto C. Layer, 83, passed away peacefully July 6, 2004 after a long and courageous struggle. A memorial service took place on July 13 in the Dansville Presbyterian Church. In appreciation for the care and kindness Otto received, please direct donations to the Sands Cancer Center, 360 Parrish St., Canandaigua N.Y. 14424. Arrangements by the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 W. Naplse St. in Wayland.

 

Antonina P. Rowcliffe

Former guidance counselor

Caledonia - Antonina P. Rowcliffe, 62, died July 10, 2004 at the Teresa House Hospice in Geneseo. Mrs. Rowcliffe was born on Oct. 26, 1941 in Batavia, N.Y. the daughter of Victor and Isabelle Palevich. She was a graduate of New Paltz and Brockport State Colleges. She was a guidance counselor for the Livonia Central School. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Daniel Rowcliffe of Caledonia; three children, Victor (Jodi) Rowcliffe of Caledonia, Heather (Jerry) Bozentko of Bethel, Conn., Wade Rowcliffe of Caledonia; brother Steve (Kate) Palevich of New Jersey; brother and sister-in-law, Bob (Roxanne) Givens of Elba, N.Y.; sister-in-law Geraldine Rowcliffe of Florida; grandson Gunnar Bozentko; several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to call Friday, July 23, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Alhart Funeral Home, 3068 W. Main St. in Caledonia. Saturday, July 24 at 10 a.m. her Funeral Mass will be held at Columba Church in Caledonia. Interment, Mt. Rest Cemetery in Bergen, N.Y. Contributions may be made to the Mumford Fire Department, Main St., Mumford, N.Y. 14511 in her memory.
