John P. Angelini DDS

John P. Angelini DDS age 82, of Caledonia died August 3, 2002 at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NY. He was born March 17, 1920 in Scottsville to John and Ethel (Prentice) Angelini. John was a dentist for 53 years and served the Caledonia area for 51 years. John served in the navy as a dentist during World War II. He was a member of the Matthew Cleary Post, Caledonia, the American Air Force Association, the American Dental Association, the University of Buffalo Dental Association, and a member of St. Columba Church. John enjoyed being a private pilot and flying. He is survived by his wife, Muriel, “Pee Wee” of Caledonia; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Greg Boilard of Caledonia; grandson, Jonathan Boilard; sisters, Ethel Stewart of Chili, Rosemary Spratt of Brighton; several nieces and nephews. No prior calling. Friends and family are invited to his Memorial Mass, Saturday, August 10th at 11:00 A.M., St. Columba Church, 198 North St., Caledonia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Focus on the Children, P.O. Box 31, Caledonia, NY 14423.

Rose M. Cottone

Rose M. Cottone age 85 of 12 Spring Street, Mount Morris died July 24, 2002 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. She was born the daughter of Nunzio “Newt” and Loretta Periano on October 1, 1916 in Mount Morris, New York. A life resident of Mt. Morris she graduated from St. Patrick's Catholic School, Mount Morris Central School and attended Alfred College and Geneseo State College. She was employed as a housekeeper Supervisor at Craig Developmental Center in Sonyea for 25 years until her retirement in 1987. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Mount Morris, the Rosary Society and the Italian-American Club. She also volunteered in helping the disabled and performing Home interior decorating. She is survived by her son Charles J. Cottone of Mt. Morris and daughter Theresa Bowser of California. 1 Grandson Eric Cottone of Penn Yan, 3 Step Grandchildren. Several Nieces and Nephews. Friends called at the JOHN W. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, where prayers were said followed by a funeral mass at St. Patrick's Church at 9:30 am. The Reverend Michael Brown officiating. Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Patrick's Church, Home and Heart Project, 46 Stanley Street, Mt. Morris, NY 14510.

Eugene C. Fisher “Gene”

Eugene C. Fisher “Gene” of Caledonia/LeRoy entered into rest after a lengthy and heroic battle with cancer at 71 yr., late Thursday, July 25, 2002. Gene was born to Charles Edward and Margaret(Torpey) Fisher in Rochester on February 6, 1931. A distinguished journeyman carpenter, after graduation from CMCS, Gene began as an apprentice at Phlanz Co. in Rochester. He soon became a master stair builder and expert door hanger. Gene was one-half owner of Fisher & Sickles, together they built many custom homes in the surrounding area. He also owned his own business, Gene Fisher Inc., general contractor, he worked as mill foreman of Caledonia Lumber, and as consultant/crew chief of Mefco Co. at the time of his death. His knowledge gained him respect among peers, competitors and customers. His skill was unsurpassed. His sense of humor and countless acts of generosity were character traits well known by all. Gene enjoyed the company of his pets, Jake and Crazy as well as the joy of growing an assortment of potatoes in his two acre “garden.” He was a fireman for 50 years in the Clifton, Mumford and Caledonia Fire Departments. He was also a member of their traveling euchre team. Predeceased by his parents, Charles Edward and Margaret (Torpey) Fisher, and Elizabeth Donaghue. Gene is survived by his son, Michael E. (Michele) Fisher of Pavilion; daughter, Cathy A. Ripton (Steve Davis) of Clifton; 3 grandchildren, Shane Fisher, Laurie Ripton and Clay Austin Fisher; a brother, C. Richard (Marilyn) Fisher of Caledonia; 2 sisters, Marie (Bob) Smithgall of Perry, Helen (Dick) Ward of Victor; many nieces, nephews and their families, and an assortment of friends from all walks of life, a special friend, Ms. Janice Furr of LeRoy and her family. Friends called Sunday at the Alhart Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass was held at St. Peter's Catholic Church, LeRoy. Interment was held at St. Columba Cemetery, Caledonia. Gertrude M. Forman “Trudy"

Gertrude M. Forman “Trudy” age 72 of Linwood died July 23, 2002 at her home. Trudy was born May 16, 1930 in Geneva, NY to James A. and Helen E. (Brate) Shults. She served as postmaster in Linwood for 22 years. Trudy was a member of the Covington United Presbyterian Church and enjoyed sewing and quilting. She was a den mother for cub scouts and a girl scout leader when her children were young. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law; James and Linda Forman of Byron, David Forman of Dale, NY; daughters and sons-in-law; Becky Pursel of Grand Island, NY, Barb and Don Mullen of Stafford, Joy Shaughnessy of LeRoy, Cathie Forman of LeRoy, Lori and Kenny Debes of Richmond, VA, Peggy and Greg Miller of LeRoy, Michele and Jeff Chasse of Linwood, 16 grandchildren, three and one-third great-grandchildren; sisters, Jane (John) Stocking of FL, Anne (Al) Gutchess of Bridgeport, NY; brother, Bill (Marsha) Shults of Lakemont, NY; many nieces and nephews. Her husband, Thomas Forman predeceases Trudy. No prior calling. Friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service, Friday at 2:00 P.M. at the Covington United Presbyterian Church, Craig Rd., Pavilion. Helen G. Kelley

Helen G. Kelley age 96 of 139 South Main Street, Mount Morris died August 4, 2002 at Highland Hospital in Rochester, New York. She was born the daughter of Frank and Kathryn (Morrissey) Grant on September 20, 1905 in York, New York. She graduated from York High School in 1921. She graduated from the University of Rochester in 1928 and attended Graduate school at the University of Rochester and McGill University in Montreal. She taught at Nunda School from 1928 to 1934 until She married Dr. Francis M. Kelley DVM from Mount Morris. She return to teaching in the 1940's at Mt. Morris Central School and in the later 40's returned to Nunda Central to teach languages until her retirement in 1971. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Mt. Morris, New York State Teachers Association and the Livingston County Retired Teachers Association.She is survived by her 3 sons Francis (Margaret) Kelley MD of Pittsford, Robert (Sandra) Kelley of VT and William (Ilsa) Kelley MD of WI. 9 Grandchildren Michael (Lisa Kelley, David Kelley, Tim (Sue) Kelley, Jim (Abby) Kelley, Kathy (Bruce) Flax, Susan (Jim) Schechter, Thomas Kelley, Brian Kelley and Daniel Kelley, 9 Great Grandchildren. 1 Niece Linda Grant and 2 Great Nephews Robert (Catherine) Grant Justin Grant all of Linwood. Many dear friends including Sonya and Nadja Donegan, Al Brewer and Chuck Anzalone all Mt. Morris. She was predeceased by her husband Dr. Francis M. Kelley DVM in 1982. Friends may call Friday(August 9) 2-4 and 7-9 at the JOHN W. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 37 Chapel Street (ROUTE 408), Mt. Morris where prayers will be said Saturday at 9 am followed by a funeral mass at St. Patrick's Church at 9:30 am. The Reverend Michael Brown officiating. Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery. Richard F. McKay “Itchy”

Richard F. “Itchy” McKay age, 72 yr. of Caledonia died July 28, 2002 at his home in Caledonia. He was born May 18, 1930 in Montrose, Colorado to Charles and Dola (Cooper) McKay. Itchy retired as an electrician from the Local 86 Electrical Workers, Rochester, NY. He was an army veteran, a member of the American Legion Post 0255, and a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Caledonia. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and gardening. Itchy is survived by his friend and long-time companion, Jenell Carnes of Caledonia; daughter, Meg (Kevin) Geer of Caledonia; sons, Rick (Amanda) McKay of Lawton, OK, Mike (Nancy) McKay of Caledonia, Jeremy Carnes of Rochester, Gregory (Sharleen) Carnes of Caledonia; sister, Doris (Robert) Rothrock of Caledonia; sister-in-law; Betty McKay of Rochester; grandchildren, Troy, Scott, and Richard McKay, Joe, Kyle, and Steven Geer, Noah Carnes, Jessica, Scott, and Katie Dueppengiesser; friend, Bobcat, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother, C. Robert McKay. Friends may call Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Alhart Funeral Home, 3068 West Main Street, Caledonia, NY. His Funeral Service will be held Thursday, 11 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church, 3080 West Main St., Caledonia, NY 14423. Interment will be held at Mumford Rural Cemetery. James L. Settle

James L. Settle, 73, died August 2, 2002 at the Highland Hospital in Rochester. Mr. Settle was born on April 17, 1929 in Avon, the son of James M. Settle and Alice (Boyd) Settle. He was a retired Master Carpenter. He was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church, Livingston Bowling League, and enjoyed golfing. He was a Korean War Navy Veteran and past Commander of the Avon VFW Post. He is survived by his wife, Gail Sanders Settle of Avon; 3 daughters and sons-in-law Jan L. (Michael D.) Davin of Avon, Wendy A. (Richard M.) Tobin of Norfolk, MA, Lisa L. (Mark D.) Dunderdale of Southborough, MA; 3 grandchildren, Timothy James, Laura Elizabeth, and Matthew Mark; 1 sister and brother-in-law Joyce E. (Gerald) Hussong of Dalton. His Memorial Service was held at the Central Presbyterian Church in Avon, Rev. David Cole officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society (P.O.
