Christian M. Austin

Dansville resident

Christian “Chris” M. Austin, 42, of 1 Eagle St. in Dansville, formerly of Naples, passed away Aug. 7, 2006 at the Teresa House, following a lengthy illness. Chris was born June 25, 1964 in Rochester the son of Ansel and Lucy (Stagliano) Austin. He grew up in the Loon Lake area of Wayland and attended Wayland Central School. He resided in Naples with his wife Joanne for several years prior to moving in with his brother Derran in Dansville a couple of years ago. Chris' employment career included several years at Bob and Irv's Shurfine of Naples in the dairy department. He was an avid NASCAR Racing fan with the #2 car of Rusty Wallace being his favorite. He also loved football and was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. Chris enjoyed attending the races at Watkins Glen and he also liked to fish. However his greatest joy was spending time with his boys, Tommy and Justin. Chris also was a member of the Four Square Family Fellowship Church in Dansville. He is survived by his wife, Joanne Austin of Naples; his children, Tommy and Justin Austin of Naples; his parents, Lucy (Tom) Teeter of Salem, Oregon and Ansel (Grace) Austin of Arkport; his siblings, Terry (Steve Hamill) Austin of Indiana, Alan (Karen) Austin of Arkport, April Austin of Oregon, Derran (Fay) Austin of Dansville, Wayne Austin of Nunda, Doraine (John) Lolley of Arkport, Michelle Sistrunk of Louisiana, Roxane Austin of Farmington, Arlette Austin of Arkport, Josh (Emily) Teeter of HI, and Amberly Austin of Arkport; stepbrother Don Teeter of Texas; stepsisters, Debbie (Mike) Bergman of Arizona, Lorie (Domique) Lichtlen of Paris, France, and Darlene (Peter) Metzer of Florida; many aunts and uncles; along with several nieces, nephew and cousins. Chris' family and friends called Wednesday at the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 W. Naples St. in Wayland. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment and committal prayers will immediately follow at the North Loon Lake Cemetery in Wayland. Memorial contributions in Christian “Chris” M. Austin's memory may be made to the Teresa House, 21 Highland Rd., Geneseo NY 14454 or to the Amytrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's Disease) Therapy Development Foundation, 215 First St., Cambridge MA 02142.

Gordon Lee Townsend

Piffard resident

Gordon Lee Townsend, 62, of 3739 East Road, Piffard, died Aug. 5, 2006 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Dansville. He was born the son of Robert Lee and Hazel (Dellow) Townsend on May 11, 1944 in Cortland, N. Y. Prior to his retirement in 2005 he was a truck driver for Rose's Enterprises in Greigsville for the five years and had worked for Vitale Brothers in Piffard for 20 years. He was a former member of the Locke Fire Department. He married Elizabeth “Betty” Barnhardt on May 16, 1991. He is survived by his wife Betty; six sons, Jerry Townsend of Moravia, Kevin (Jackie) and Dennis (Tammy) Townsend, both of North Carolina, Brian Townsend of Virginia, Joseph (Lisa) Townsend of Cayuga and James Townsend of MZ; 11 grandchildren; two brothers, Robert (Anne) Townsend of Moravia and Albert (Lesa) Townsend of Locke; three sisters, Joan Reid and June Carr, both of Moravia and Janice Griffin of Florida; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Norman and Thomas. Friends may called Wednesday at the John W. Martin Funeral Home, 37 Chapel St. (Route 408), Mt. Kimberly A. Wright

Kimberly A. Wright, 42, of Meadow Dr. in Geneseo, died suddenly Aug. 2, 2006 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. She is survived by her two daughters, Lauren Wright of Geneseo and Emily Wright of Livonia; two brothers, Tom (Darlene) Wright of Henrietta and Tim Wright of WA; several nieces, nephews, cousins and her beloved cat Willow. She was preceded in death by her mother Ruth Wright. She was born Nov. 21, 1963 in Rochester the daughter of John and Ruth Wright. Visitation was held at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home Inc., 111 Main St. in Geneseo on Sunday. Graveside services were held Aug. 7 in Temple Hill Cemetery in Geneseo with Lucille Kane officiating.
