Don Werth

Former Wayland resident

Wayland/Indiana - Don R. Werth Jr., 38, of Dana, Ind. and formerly of Wayland/Loon Lake area, passed away, Aug. 10, 2005 as the result of an accident while fishing in Indiana. He was born Sept. 28, 1966 in Irving, N.Y., the son of Don and Doris (McManus) Werth. He grew up in the Wayland/Loon Lake area and was a graduate of Wayland Central School in 1984. Subsequent to graduating from Wayland, Don attended the University of Rochester. approximately 13 years ago he became a licensed tractor trailer driver after attending the National Tractor Trailer School in Buffalo. Don has resided in different areas throughout his life including, Orchard Park, Connecticut, and most recently Dana, Ind. During his younger years, he enjoyed participating in the local 4H Club. He would show steer and he earned blue ribbons when he made a hat and bib overalls. He enjoyed fishing and he loved driving his tractor trailer. Don could often be heard saying "Don't think because you're not good at it" and "not for nothing." Don was predeceased by his two grandfaters, Richard McManus in 1989 and Dale Werth in 2004. He is survived by his three children, Bryan, Sara, and Tyler Werth, his fiancee, Gail Kleiner of Dana, Ind.; his parents Don and Doris Werth of Wayland; sisters, mary Werth of Brant, NY, Elizabeth Werth of Wayland, Kelly (Chris) Werth of Virginia; and his grandmothers, Helen Werth of Jupiter, Fla. and Phyllis Halley of Florida. Family and friends called Tuesday at the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 W. Naples St. in Wayland. Don's Funeral Service was conducted Wednesday at the Funeral Home wiht Jack Pryor officiating. Interment, North Loon Lake Cemetery. Contributions in Don R. Werth Jr.'s memory may be made to the vincent House, 310 Second Ave, Wayland NY 14572.
