Ev passed away suddenly on Thursday, August 22. Ev went into business for himself as a mechanic and car dealer in 1942 in the former gas station (now Honeoye Falls Auto Parts) on Ontario Street. He sold Wilys, Kaiser-Fraser and Studebaker before buying the former Leon Horton/Louis Sage Ford dealership in 1953, moving the business to 106 West Main Street in 1955. Ev is predeceased by his wife Gertrude and daughter Leslie Wambold. He is survived by daughters Judy Lewis, Susan (Roland) Lyle, Victoria Bush, 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, a sister Edith Culp, brothers William Lewis, Robert (Rosemary) Lewis, Donald (Beverly) Lewis, and step-sister Shirley (Marvin) Silco. Friends called at the Merton Keys Funeral Home in Honeoye Falls. Services were held last Monday at the West Bloomfield Congregational Church. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to the Honeoye Falls Mendon Ambulance Fund or the American Heart Association. |
