Jessica K. Dietz

Nunda resident

Jessica K. Dietz, 26 of 53 East St., Nunda died Sept. 5, 2005 at her home. She was born the daughter of Frederick and Yvonne (McCarthy) Dietz on July 7, 1979 in Watertown, N.Y. She worked at Hilltop Industries in Mt. Morris for 4 years. She was a member of the Hunt Baptist Church. She is survived by her parents, Frederick and Yvonne; 11 brothers and sisters, Michael (Mary) Denby, Kelly (Laurie) Denby, Vicky (Donald) Fox, Christopher (Pam) Denby, Briane (Rene) Dietz, Brenda Dietz, Melissa (Chad) Curry, Jacqueline (Joe) Curry, Sabrina Dietz, Timothy Dietz and Tammi Dietz; maternal grandmother Verna McCarthy; several aunts and uncles and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Wednesday 7-9 pm at the JOHN W. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 37 Chapel St. (Route 408), Mount Morris. Funeral Services to be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Hunt Baptist Church. Sarah Mae Phillips (Cottom)

Avon - Sarah Mae Phillips, 84, died on Sept. 4, 2005 at Monroe Community Hospital in Rochester. Mrs. Phillips was born on July 31, 1921 in Avon, the daughter of George and Estella Cottom. She was a member of the Avon United Methodist Church, Church Choir and the church Women's Club. She was also a member of the Partnership Class, and the XYZ Club of Avon. She retired from the Rochester Psychiatric Center in 1983. She was predeceased by her husband William Phillips, Sr., daughters Dolores "Dolly" Lee, Elizabeth Phillips and son-in-law Pernell Jones. She is survived by her daughters, Carol (David) Marshall, Florence Jones; son, Minister William E. Phillips Jr., all of Rochester; son-in-law Louis (Suzanne) Lee of Avon; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brother John (Madeline) Cottom of Rochester; brother-in-laws, Henry Beason of Avon and Rev. Paul McDaniel of Chatanooga, Tenn.; sister-in-law Florence (Duane) Steverson of LeRoy; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Call hous will be held Friday, Sept. 9 from 2-4 p.m., 7-9 p.m. at the Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc. in Avon. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 10 at 11 a.m. at the Avon United Methodist Church in Avon. Memorials may be made to the Avon United Methodist Church, 130 Genesee St., Avon NY 14414.
