Carl E. Deming

Carl E. Deming, 44, of Covington Road in Leicester, died Sept. 30, 2002 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Mr. Deming was employed by the Town of Leicester Highway Department. He is survived by his wife Beverly Stark Deming of Leicester; two children, Jeremy and Alyssa Deming, both at home; his mother Grace Deming of York; his brother John Deming of York; two sisters, Kelly (David) Cuozzo of Leicester; Linda (Gary McKeown) Pascuzzo of Colorado; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father John L. Deming in 1994. He was born Oct. 8, 1957 in Batavia, the son of John and Grace (McIntyre) Deming. Visitation will be held at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Memorial may be made to York United Presbyterian Church, 2662 Main St., Box 41, York NY 14592 or York Fire Department, P.O. Box 95, York NY 14592, or Leicester Fire Department, 126 Main St., Leicester NY 14481. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 5 at 10 a.m. at the York United Presbyterian Church with Rev. Neil Frood officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Fowlerville.

Richard P. Donlon

Richard P. Donlon, 66, of Coy Road, Livonia, died Friday, September 27 at his home after a long illness. He was born the son of Albert and Bertha Simmons Donlon on June 6, 1936 in Rochester. He was a retiree of Annis Dairy in Avon and a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp. Mr. Donlon was a very avid sports fan. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Grace, his children Alan Donlon of Livonia, Troy (Marianna) Donlon of Pittsford, Kathleen (Scott) Bergeton of Dearborn, MI; 3 grandchildren Alan Michael Donlon, Ashley and Brianna Donlon; his mother Bertha Donlon of Honeoye Falls; brother William (Rae) Donlon of Lima; sisters Sally Zimmer of Honeoye Falls, Mary Jo (James) Stahl of Honeoye Falls. Several nieces and nephews, cousins including William Clifford of LeRoy. Friends called Monday at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc. Livonia. His funeral service was held Tuesday at 11 am at the United Methodist Church of Honeoye Falls. Burial North Bloomfield Cemetery. Richard A. Dudley

Richard A. Dudley, 94, retired owner of the Western Auto in Geneseo, died Sept. 29, 2002 at the Livingston County Skilled Nursing Facility in Geneseo. Mr. Dudley resided on Center St. in Geneseo prior to his entry into the nursing home. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret “Peg” Dudley in January 2001. He is survived by one niece Virginia (Eugene) Shaw of Columbia, S.C.; one great niece Susan (John) Farmer, also of Columbia, S. C. He was born Oct. 13, 1907 in Cuba, N.Y. the son of John and Emma (Ackerley) Dudley. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Geneseo. No prior calling hours. Memorials may be made to St. Michael's Church, 23 Main St., Geneseo NY 14454. Memorial services will be held Friday, Oct. 4 at 1 p.m. at St. Michael's Episcopal Church with Rev. Mark Lattime officiating. Interment, St. Michael's Memorial Urn Garden. Rachel Huff

Rachel Huff, 16, of Farmington passed away Thursday, September 16 in Wellsville, as a result of injuries sustained during a automobile accident. Rachel was born August 14, 1986 in Canandaigua, New York, the daughter of Eric and April Marie (Austin) Huff. She was currently enjoying her junior year of high school at Canandaigua Academy and she had plans to finish school this year at Wellsville High School. Rachel was a very popular and well-liked person as evidenced by her legion of friends that reached many of the towns between Canandaigua and Wellsville. Of particular interest to Rachel was a song by Mary Mary titled, “Shackles (Praise You)”. Regardless of how Rachel was feeling at the times she heard this song, it always seemed to lift her up and put her in a pleasant mood. Rachel is predeceased by her sister Faith in 1985. Rachel is survived by her mother April Lolley of Wellsville and her father Eric Huff of Farmington; sisters Shannon Carroll of Wellsville, Dustie Huff of Farmington; brothers Shawn (Elsie) Huffman of Pike, Steven Epping of Wellsville and Phillip Huff of Farmington; maternal grandparents, Lucy (Thomas) Teeter of Salem, Oregon, Ansel (Grace) Austin of Dansville; paternal grandparents, Samuel (Josephine) Bradford of North Dansville; several aunts and uncles; 1 niece and 3 nephews. Rachel's family received friends Tuesday at the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home in Wayland. A funeral service was conducted at 11:00 am Wednesday, October 2nd at Woodlawn Cemetery in Canandaigua, by the Reverend Everett Hasper. Also on Wednesday, a memorial service was conducted at the Apostolic Lighthouse Ministries, Almond, NY. Dorothy L. MacLeod

Dorothy L. MacLeod, 86, retired from the Rochester Telephone Henrietta Office, died Sept. 24, 2002 at her resident in Avon. She was a former employee of the Jello Company in LeRoy, N.Y. She is survived by her son Allyn MacLeod of Avon; sister Eleanor Boyd of Geneseo; brother Kenneth Taft of Vestal, N.Y.; sister-in-law Florence “Sis” Taft of Geneseo; several nieces and nephews. She was born Jan. 19, 1916 in Geneseo, the daughter of David and Florence (Walton) Taft. She was a former member of the LeRoy Moose Club and the XYZ Club of Avon. Memorials may be made to the family at 100 Hillside Dr., Avon NY 14414. Graveside services were held Sept. 27 in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Geneseo with Rev. Joseph O'Neal

Joseph “Maynard” O'Neal, formerly of Wayland, age 65 passed away Monday, September 16 after a long battle with cancer in Pinnella's Park, Florida. Maynard was born July 8, 1937 in Caribou, Maine. He spent his early years in Caribou, Maine and resided the majority of his life in the Wayland/Dansville area. He has resided in Pinnella's Park, Florida for the past fifteen years. Maynard enjoyed employment at Foster Wheeler Energy Corporation for 20 years and while employed there, he took pleasure as a past president of the machinist union. He was also self-employed in the construction industry for many years in the Wayland/Dansville area. Following his move to Florida, Maynard was employed by Meisner Marine, where he worked until his death. Maynard was predeceased by his father George in 1988 and his daughter Tina in 1991. Maynard is survived by his mother Irene (Belanger) O'Neal now residing at the Mercy Care Health Facility in Hornell; his first wife Jayne Gray of Florida; his second wife Patricia (Martin) O'Neal of Florida; one son, Terry O'Neal of Phoenix, Arizona; daughter-in-law Denise (O'Neal) and Rick Guy of Dansville and daughters Diane and Cathlene O'Neal both of Florida; 3 step-children, Teresa Sawyer of Atlanta, New York, Rene (Mark) Niquette of Florida; Bill (Cathy) Guion of Florida; 2 brothers Joseph Lawrence “Puss” (Shirley) O'Neal and Roger (Jackie) O'Neal both of Wayland; several grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; several nieces and nephews; and 2 very special people, Terry Murray and Kim Schooner. Friends and family are invited to Maynard's Funeral Service at 11 am Saturday, October 5 at the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland. William H. Seaman

William H. Seaman, 91, a retired farmer at the Seaman Family Farm in Pavilion, died Sept. 26, 2002 at the Eastside Nursing Home in Warsaw, N.Y. where he had been a resident since 1995. Mr. Seaman had previously made his home on Peoria Road in Pavilion. He is survived by his daughter Marian (Gerald) Feeney of Old Mystic, Conn; four sisters-in-law, Alvina Seaman of Piffard, Lorraine Slane of Wyoming, N.Y., Alice Smith of Piffard and Arlene (Harold) Stewart of Retsof; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Frances in 1951. He was born Jan. 24, 1911 in Avon, the son of Burt and Barbara (Hass) Seaman. He was a member of the Covington United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice. No prior calling hours. Private Funeral Services will be held Monday, Oct. 7, in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in York with Rev. James E. Uhly

James E. Uhly of Grayshores Road, Livonia, died suddenly Sept. 25, 2002 at age 51. He was born the son of Jasper and Alice Farrand Uhly on Feb. 19, 1951 in Batavia. He was a teacher at Alexander Central School for 29 years. He was a member of the I.A.A.B.O. Board 60, and a member of the Eastern College Athletic Council. He is survived by his wife Bonnie Rossborough Uhly; daughters, Marcey (Chuck Fox) Gfeller of Livonia, Kristey Uhly of Las Vegas, Nev.; son Kory (Sarah Caseini) Wright of Livonia; grandchildren, Amanda Schwendy and Alyssa Gfeller; mother and stepfather, Alice and Gerald Connor of Florida; brother David Uhly of Virginia; sister Barbara Uhly of Virginia; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Brenda and Tim McCarron of Livonia; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends including Robert Lowe; beloved pets, Goldey, Jeter and Roberta. Friends called Friday and Saturday at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., Route 15 in Livonia where funeral services were held following calling.
