Barbara H. Ball

Caledonia/Cypress, Calif. - Barbara H. Ball died Nov. 5, 2006. She is survived by her brother, John G. (Judith) Ball of Caledonia; her nephew, John (Evelyn) Ball and their children, Michael and Justin of Fairport; her nephew, Matthew (Helen) Ball and their children, Daniel, Margaret and James of Glenmont, N.Y.; and her dear friend Margot Coons of Cypress, Calif. A graduate of the University of Rochester, Barbara taught school in Hilton in the nineteen fifties and for forty years in California prior to her retirement. Friends attended her Memorial Mass, Nov. 10 at St. Columba Church, Caledonia. Private Interment, Mumford Rural Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Caledonia Library Association, 3108 Main St., Caledonia NY 14423 or to a favorite charity. Arrangements made by Alhart Funeral Home.

Eric S. Grammas

Geneseo resident

Eric S. Grammas, 24, of Jones Bridge Road in Geneseo, died suddenly Nov. 16, 2006 at his residence. He is survived by his mother Teonna (Stan) Janczak of Geneseo; father David Grammas of Geneseo; three sisters, Amy Grammas of Baltimore, MD., Kimberly Janczak of Rochester, Lindsay Janczak of Jersey City, N.J.; maternal grandmother June (Ken) Holland of Indiana; maternal grandfather Robert (Barb) Harmon of Indiana; paternal grandparents, Steve and Dorothy Grammas of Indiana; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Eric was born July 31, 1982 in Madison, Wisconsin, the son of David and Teonna Harmon Grammas. He was a 2001 graduate of Geneseo Central School and a 2005 graduate of SUNY Geneseo, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree. He was a member of St. Mary's Church Choir, and was very active in Community Theatre. He was deemed outstanding lead actor in the 2000 production of Into the Woods and outstanding supporting actor in the 2001 production of Bye Bye Birdie, both by the Rochester Broadway Theatre Guild. He directed Brighton Beach Memoirs in 2005 for the Geneseo Community Players and SUNY Geneseo School of Performing Arts. Visitation was held at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home Inc., 111 Main St. in Geneseo Nov. 19. Funeral Mass was held Nov. 20 at St. Mary's Church in Geneseo. Burial, St. Mary's Cemetery in Geneseo. Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 1425 Jefferson Rd. #19, Rochester NY 14623.

Henrietta L. Stemper

Hunt resident

Henrietta L. Stemper, 82, of 322 Bailey Road, Hunt, N. Y., died Nov. 15, 2006 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. She was born the daughter of Henry and Bertha (Sobotta) Moll on Sept. 25, 1924 in North Tonawanda, N. Y. Prior to her retirement she was employed as an Aide at Craig Developmental Center in Sonyea and Keshequa Central School. She was a member of the Castile United Church of Christ and the Mary Jemison chapter of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her three daughters, Sharon (Kenneth) Buckley of Hunt, Diane Stemper of Arizona and Shirley (Matthew) Elmendorf of Ga.; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Frank in 1990 and her daughter Elizabeth Stemper in 2005. Friends called Friday at the John W. Martin Funeral Home, 37 Chapel St., (Route 408), Mount Morris, where Funeral Services were held Saturday. Interment, Union Cemetery, Dalton.
